THANKS FOR BIKING THE BEAR

Special thanks to all the boys, leaders, and those that helped with Bike the Bear. It was a great success. All but two of the boys were able to finish the full 50 miles and the two that didn't finish had to leave early for football. We appreciate all those involved!

COURT OF HONOR/ARROW OF LIGHT CEREMONY

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING EACH OF YOU AT OUR COURT OF HONOR THIS SUNDAY AT 6:30 PM AT THE CHURCH HOUSE.

We will be doing an ARROW OF LIGHT ceremony for several of our boys that are coming into the 11 year old scouts. SO, ALL FAMILIES AND PACK ARE INVITED. WE will then go right into the awards for the young men at the Court of Honor. There are lots of things that have happened this summer and many merit badges, awards, patches, etc that have been earned. We look forward to seeing everyone there.

IF YOU KNOW OF ANYONE THAT DOESN'T GET OUR MESSAGES...please let them know about the COURT OF HONOR THIS SUNDAY.

Questions?  Please call me. Thanks so very much!

WOOD BADGE INFO FOR NOVEMBER COURSE

Just wanted you to know that our Woodbadge course in November is ALMOST FULL. We have three spots left.

To those of you that have replied and will not be able to make it...WE WILL MISS YOU!

To those of you that have signed up...WE ARE SUPER EXCITED!!!! Our course director is helping us plan for all of us from the Bear Lake Valley. Right now, we have TWELVE coming from our valley.  This is SOOOOO exciting. Our leaders will be trained and I am so excited to be a part of the course as a Troop Guide on the staff.  (You can call me if you have questions.)

To those of you that have NOT signed up but would like to attend...PLEASE CALL ME TODAY!!!! This is an amazing staff.  In over 16 years of scouting service, of all of the staffs that I have worked with on a council level, this is the most organized and enthusiastic of them all. I am so lucky to be a part of it. If any of you that had wanted to come and have not put in your registration forms yet, please call me.  I don't want to leave anyone out that wants to attend. This is going to be one of those events that we will be talking about for years to come.

WHAT IF I CAN'T RIDE THE FULL 50 MILES FOR BIKE THE BEAR?

WE DON'T WANT TO LEAVE ANYONE OUT.  If a scout doesn't want to bike the Bear, we still want him to participate in the overnighter. They will not have to ride the full 50 miles if they do not want to. There are people every 10 miles for mechanic problems and for the boys to stop and rest. If they feel they can't go any further, we will have people that will come and get them and they will still get awards for the mileage they went. We know each of the boys can go at least 10 miles because they have already had a practice run to Dingle Pond. It was very successful and we have high hopes for the boys. This counts towards their CENTENNIAL AWARD that we have been working on all year, so please have them come, if at all possible.

If you have ANY questions, please call us!

We will be working on bikes during scouts and making sure they are in order to BIKE THE BEAR for the next two weeks. Please have your boys bring their bikes and we will help them, where necessary. We are also setting up new patrols and now have new leaders for the patrols.

THANKS TO LEADERS

Just wanted to let our two assistant Scout Masters know how much we appreciated their efforts in working with us during the last year. They have been released and moved to other callings and we are grateful that they still help us when we need them!

We want to welcome our four NEW assistant Scout Masters in the 11 year old program and are super excited to work with each of them.

We also welcome our new Scout Committee Chair and those that have said yes to serving on the Scout Committee. To have a successful program takes a lot of work and more people helping makes it easier for everyone. THANK Y'ALL SO MUCH!!!!

Special thanks goes to the Bishop's of each of the wards for helping staff the program and provide great leaders for us to work with.  WE SO APPRECIATE ALL OF YOUR SUPPORT!
